At Phoenixville Hospital, Ob/Gyn Care physicians provide a wide range of
routine and specialized obstetric and gynecologic services, including fertility
care and maternal fetal medicine for high-risk pregnancies.
Our services and programs offer modern-day medical advances and provide
experienced patient care.
Ob/Gyn Care at Phoenixville Hospital combines the expertise of physicians and
services with a community location that is convenient and close to home. At
Phoenixville Hospital, we offer the following services:
Birth Preparation Class
This class is designed for expectant mothers and their support person. The
class explains the labor and delivery process and informs participants about
medication and medical interventions they may encounter during their birth
experience. Relaxation, coping and breathing techniques are taught and
practiced. Newborn care and postpartum issues are also discussed. This class is
offered one night per week for four weeks or as a convenient, one-day Saturday
class.
Breastfeeding Class
A certified lactation consultant instructs families on the lifetime benefits
of breastfeeding for baby, mother and family. This class teaches how breastmilk
is made and latching techniques. It also helps to dispel many myths about
breastfeeding, and discusses when and how to get help, how to continue
breastfeeding, and how to manage working and breastfeeding.
Infant/Child Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
This class reinforces how to prevent emergencies and when to use rescue
breathing and CPR. Participants practice on infant and child-sized mannequins
and are supervised by a qualified instructor.
Sibling Preparation Class
If you have children between the ages of three and eleven years old who are
going to become big brothers or sisters, this class will help them get
acquainted with what to expect with a new baby.
Birth Preparation Reunion
This event occurs three times per year. Participants of previous birth
preparation classes are invited to attend with their new arrival. Adjustment to
parental life is discussed and parent-to-parent support is encouraged.
Baby Shower
This event will provide parents-to-be and new parents the opportunity to
receive valuable parenting information and to have fun at the same time.
Participants will increase their awareness of community resources, childcare and
safety issues.
