The Breast Health Center at Phoenixville provides women with comprehensive preventive,
diagnostic, surgical and follow-up breast care, all in one centralized location.
Under the direction of Bruce Weiner, M.D., FACS, the center is committed to providing patients
with advanced breast care. The team at the Breast Health Center at Phoenixville is dedicated to
following breast patients through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. We strongly believe that the
treatment of breast disease requires a partnership between the patient and the treating physicians.
Meet Our Surgeon
Bruce Weiner, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Breast Surgeon
Bruce Weiner, M.D., F.A.C.S.,
is a board-certified surgeon
with advanced post-graduate
training in the management
of breast diseases.
Dr. Weiner's practice
focuses solely on breast problems, both benign
and malignant.
Dr. Weiner was one of the first surgeons in the
Philadelphia region to perform stereotactic
breast biopsy, sentinel node axillary biopsy and
catheter placement for partial breast radiation.
He is one of only a handful of surgeons certified
by the American Society of Breast Surgeons to
perform stereotactic breast biopsy. His office
offers ultrasound guided biopsy, stereotactic
breast biopsy, as well as genetic testing
and counseling.
Dr. Weiner is certified by the American Board of
Surgery and is a fellow of the American College
of Surgeons. He is a member of the American
Society of Breast Surgeons, American Society of
Breast Disease and other surgical societies, and
is an advisor to the website BreastCancer.Org.
Upon graduating from Harvard University,
Dr. Weiner obtained his medical degree from
Rutgers Medical School. He completed a
surgical residency at The Mount Sinai Medical
Center and received his post-graduate training
in the treatment of breast disease at Memorial
Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Dr. Weiner actively participates in breast cancer
research trials.
With more than 20 years diagnosing and
treating breast diseases, Dr. Weiner brings
experience, expertise, compassion and
patient-oriented care to our community.

our Breast Care Navigator is here to help
you through this difficult time. She can be
a valuable resource for you and your family,
providing support, comfort, education
and advice.
The Breast Care Navigator provides:
- In-depth, personal guidance from
an experienced and caring medical
professional specializing in breast health
- Assistance with communicating your
needs and concerns to your health care
team and family
- Answers to questions and clarifications of
your treatment plan
- Assistance with scheduling follow-up
services and specialist appointments
- Referrals to, and information about,
hospital-based and community support
groups and services (The Phoenixville
Hospital Breast Cancer Support Group
meets the 4th Tuesday of every month.)
- Access to information, publications, books
and videos on a variety of topics related to
beast health and breast cancer
- Practical information about image recovery
during and after treatment

Multi-Disciplinary Approach
The Breast Health Center offers patients
individualized, multi-disciplinary care in a
comfortable setting, with supportive staff,
plus the advantages of working directly with
other Phoenixville Hospital resources
like advanced diagnostic imaging and a
comprehensive Cancer Center all on the
same campus.
Diagnostic Imaging Services
American College of Radiology accredited breast
health services are available at Phoenixville
Hospital and the Outpatient & Surgery Center at
Limerick. All of the board-certified radiologists
on the medical staff at Phoenixville Hospital are
members of the Department of Radiology at the
University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Specialty-certified technologists use advanced
equipment to provide the following breast
health services:
- Digital mammography – diagnostic
and screening – with computer-aided
detection (CAD)
- Digital breast ultrasound
- Digital mammographic needle localizations
- Breast MRI and MR-guided breast biopsy
- Ultrasound-guided breast
biopsy/mammotone
- Dedicated breast care liaison
The Cancer Center at Phoenixville Hospital
A team of board-certified medical and radiation
oncologists, along with specialty-trained
therapists and oncology nurses, provides a
multidisciplinary approach to cancer care and
offers advanced treatments, including radiation,
recent advancements in chemotherapy and a
wide range of support services.
The Cancer Center at Phoenixville Hospital
is a member of the University of Pennsylvania
Cancer Network.
The Center has been recognized by the
Commission on Cancer of the American
College of Surgeons, awarding a three-year
Accreditation with Commendation in all
six standards that represent the full scope
of the cancer program: cancer committee
leadership, cancer data management, clinical
services, research, community outreach and
quality improvement.
